First Treatment Visit
If you are a new patient to Olive Tree Dental a new patient exam is carried out first to ensure you are dentally fit for the treatment. We carry out a comprehensive assessment of your mouth, and take X-rays and photographs of your teeth, whilst also examining the soft tissues such as your gums and tongue, as well the gland area.
Once the need for a Denture is ascertained, we kindly ask that you attend a follow-up preparation visit. Any failing teeth may require extraction prior to treatment. A scan of your mouth is taken and sent to the dental laboratory.
Second Treatment Visit
The lab work is sent back to your dentist, who will then measure your bite, in order to create a made-to-measure set of dentures.
Third Treatment Visit
A wax copy of your denture is created and fitted, giving you the opportunity to vocalise any changes you wish to have carried out before your final denture is ready. Smile Design is important to us and want to ensure you are pleased with your final results.
Fourth Treatment Visit
The final dentures are ready to take away.
Fifth Visit (review)
One to two weeks after you received your permanent dentures, a review is conducted. It’s important to us that you are nothing short of completely satisfied with your result. We are able to carry out a review with you over the phone or via a virtual video consultation if this is more convenient for you.
If you have been suffering from gum irritation, it might be time to have your dentures adjusted, or to have a new set created. As your jawbone will be prone to shrinking due to the absence of tooth roots, your dentures will eventually no longer be an optimal fit for your teeth. We can ensure that your new dentures are an excellent and natural-looking fit for your mouth, leaving your content and smiling.
Whilst teeth whitening treatment is an excellent way to restore a white and bright aesthetic to your teeth, it’s not possible to whiten dentures. However, we can advise on safe ways to remove stains from your dentures, and how to reduce the chance of staining in the future. One of our hygienists would be happy to advise you further.

If the idea of wearing a removable denture does not appeal to you, we can offer implant-retained dentures, which replaces lost or failing tooth roots with titanium implant teeth. A set of dentures is then placed over the top, providing excellent stability. It is the most tooth-like treatment we can offer in terms of aesthetic and function.

Yes, providing this is pre-arranged and the Dentist has enough time allocated during the appointment. Effectively you will have the extraction then an immediate denture will be placed. The process includes; a mould of the teeth being taken, the prescription is then sent to the laboratory and the bespoke immediate denture will then be made to measure and placed in the gap where the extraction has taken place.
