Dental Check-ups / New Patient Exam

The first thing to remember is that you’re not alone. Here at Olive Tree Dental, we have successfully helped hundreds of patients overcome and navigate their fear of the dentist (many of them now even look forward to coming into see us). Our practice environment is one of care and support, and we can also offer sedation if you would like some extra help relaxing during your check-up. Under sedation, your anxiety will become repressed, due to the effects of the Midazolam sedative – many patients find they only need sedation once to feel confident during future dentist visits.

Dental check-ups normally take between 30-60 minutes. New patient exams are one hour. We respectfully request our patients to arrive 5 minutes earlier than the scheduled appointment if they are a new patient, as you will need you to fill out a few forms about your medical history and personal details prior to your appointment. You will then be taken through a comprehensive consultation so that we have a thorough understanding of your overall oral health and hygiene habits.

We advise aiming to see us every 12-16 weeks, though patients with high risk factors for dental-related conditions may be advised to come in more regularly. We can give you an accurate idea of how often to come in when you attend a new patient exam and a tailored treatment plan has been determined.
