A chemical peel provides a much more comprehensive level of exfoliation than at-home scrubs and brushes. They use higher levels of active ingredients than in your at-home products, and penetrate into deeper levels of the skin.
Revealing a radiant and revitalised complexion.
We’re proud to be offering our patients chemical peels from skincare gurus Jan Marini, a multi-award-winning brand synonymous with quality and innovation. Your choice of chemical peel will leave your skin glowing and hydrated, and with skin cells having been regenerated, skin concerns such as fine lines, pigmentation, acne, rosacea, and wrinkles will become less accentuated.
Medical-grade chemical peels from Jan Marini are only available through reputable facial aesthetic practitioners, such as our team here at Olive Tree Dental.
The majority of Jan Marini’s product range contains glycolic acid, which helps to loosen the congestion within cellular cement, which is the cause of a variety of skin conditions.
There are three types of chemical peel available:
Revitalise dull and tired-looking skin.
Reduces acne scarring, spots, freckles, and blemishes.
Improves skin texture and tone.
Skin will look brighter, smoother, and more youthful post-treatment.
Deeper level of exfoliation than at-home peels.
Supports your daily at-home skincare routine.
Comprehensive Consultation (First visit)
We will need to review your medical history before treatment can be considered, as you may not be suitable if you are undergoing certain treatment. During your consultation, we will assess the condition of your skin, and select which facial is most appropriate for your skin concerns. A tailored skincare treatment plan is then created, as often skincare treatments need frequency to see lasting results.
Treatment Visit (Second visit)
Your chemical is performed by a dental professional who is also a facial aesthetic practitioner. The steps of treatment include:
Aftercare
You may experience a slight burning sensation following deeper peels for about 3-7 days. Using a cool compress can help to ease the stinging. You may also notice some cracking of the exfoliated skin layer. However, once this is gone, you will be left with a beautiful layer of fresh and healthy-looking skin. We recommend wearing SPF 50 in the days after your peel, especially after more potent retinol-based peels, as they will render your skin more sensitive to sun damage.
A chemical peel provides a much more comprehensive level of exfoliation than at-home scrubs and brushes. They use higher levels of active ingredients than in your at-home products, and penetrate into deeper levels of the skin.
The results are progressive, taking several weeks to manifest. However, you will notice an immediate transformative difference to your skin after treatment. We recommend a course of 4-6 treatments taken at the intervals advised by your facial aesthetic practitioner.
A chemical peel dislodges dead skin cells that have built up across your skin. Young skin is more capable at turnover skin cells to reveal fresher and more radiant epidermis (the outermost layer of skin). However, ageing, and certain skin conditions, hinder this turnover, resulting in dull-looking skin. A chemical peel removes impurities, and encourages cell renewal.
Your treatment appointment should take between 30-45 minutes. Some treatments may be slightly longer, but you will be advised of this ahead of time.
