First Patient Visit
If you are a new patient to Olive Tree Dental a new patient exam is carried out first to ensure you are dentally fit for the treatment. We carry out a comprehensive assessment of your mouth, and take X-rays and photographs of your teeth, whilst also examining the soft tissues such as your gums and tongue, as well the gland area.
A patient examination is carried out to diagnose the need for a filling.
Second Patient Visit
Your tooth is numbed with local anaesthetic, before the decay is gently removed from your tooth. The tooth is then filled with the white composite filling, which will be moulded to fit the exact shape of your tooth.
Aftercare
We recommend avoiding hot and cold food and drink whilst the tooth is numb, as this may cause a burning sensation. Enjoy a soft diet for one to two days after your procedure to maintain longevity of the filling.

Fillings are durable with the right care and attention. The majority of fillings will last providing you practice good oral hygiene and avoid biting on objects such as ice.
