Examination:
If you are a new patient to Olive Tree Dental a new patient exam is carried out first to ensure you are dentally fit for the treatment. A comprehensive assessment is then undertaken.
We will ask you to attend an examination, so that we can diagnose the need for root canal treatment.

Treatment (second appointment)
Your dentist will numb the area around the affected tooth with local anaesthetic and isolate the tooth utilising a rubber dam stopping any saliva or bacteria from getting into your mouth. Once the root canals of the tooth have been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, a filling material is placed within it. A crown or filling is placed over the top, fortifying it, and restoring its aesthetic.
Aftercare
We recommend a soft food diet for 2 or 3 days after treatment. Hot and cold food and drink should be avoided in the hours after the procedure has been performed, as the tooth will still be numb, which could cause a burning sensation.
