We hear the words ‘composite bonding’ everywhere these days, but do we know what it is?
Composite bonding has become quite a popular dental treatment for many patients in the chair which involves applying, sculpting and setting a tooth-coloured resin to the surface of your teeth to improve its overall shape and function.
Composite has been used in dentistry for many years in so many different ways (filling dental cavities, repairing chipped or cracked teeth and for Invisalign) but it has more recently become a great way to enhance your natural teeth without needing to shave teeth down.
Prior to any cosmetic treatment, the dentist will assess your teeth first to ensure that the teeth are strong and healthy for the treatment provided then design your smile with you.
Composite bonding on average lasts between 5-7 years. Over time, they can chip, pick up staining and need to be replaced however if you look after them, they’ll look after you!
